A little naughty I know but couldn't help myself.
For those of you who keep an eye on my blog you may remember a photo of Jose as "The Guardian" of a friends mob of sheep. Here is is having his first haircut in 4 years and he was so calm and relaxed during the process. We had gathered reinforcements in case he had to be restrained but that wasn't necessary so I was able to take photos instead.
I was wondering what it means when you bike is worth several times more than the vehicle thats transporting it.
Recently I spent an afternoon canoeing on the black swamp. I was a little worried taking my camera as I didn't want to get water on it. The swamp is full of wonderful looking Red Gum trees like this one and is a haven for water birds.
These two shots are taken of the same tree on different days. The top one was taken today. It's my favourite.
Today I did a big photo shoot at the local primary school. It took all day and I had to shoot many different groups of children in their costumes that they will be wearing in an upcoming performance. I cant put any of the school kids up for privacy reasons so here is Natalee and me having a bit of fun between groups. And guess what? Fox was behind the lens for this shot,he is a man of many talents.
My niece Amy who is also a keen photographer took this photo of me at the Black Swamp.
There is much more water in it than when I took the previous shots there. We have had plenty of rain recently and this mob of Wood Ducks look pretty happy swimming around on one of my dams. The term "Ducks on the Pond" is sometimes called out when a woman enters a male domain to give the men warning to stop talking about crass things or swearing. I have heard it called out in a woolshed a few times.
Here you see an ebay purchase being put to good use. I purchased this machine to lift the sheets of plaster up to the ceiling on the advise of Fox. Without it I reckon my back would be not feeling as good as it is tonight. By the way Fox took the 2 photographs,he gets a little cross if I don't give him photography credits. The sheet we are lifting here is about 3.7metres long.
This old foot bridge across the Black Swamp was once used by the old lady from the swamp to collect her mail.It is rumoured that she was bitten by a snake on the finger and cut her finger off with an axe to stop the poison spreading.
Here my nephew Angelo and his girlfriend Sarah were kind enough to model for me for this photograph. |
